Step One:
Clean all seam lines from the Autarch and jetbike.
Assemble the jetbike except for the hood. Do not use the banner pole that comes with the jetbike.
Step Two:
Carefully remove the two brushes from the Autarch’s helmet. This can easily be done by heavily scoring where the brush holder meets the side of the helmet, then bending back and forth until the brush breaks off. Smooth out the rough area where the brush was removed with a file or scrape with the edge of an xacto, or both.
Remove the two belt grenades with a knife and saw the Autarch in half just below the sash. Carve away what remains of the cape from the back of the model and sculpt the belt that goes under his left arm from this area as well.
Glue the torso to the legs.
Step Three:
Carve away the center nodule from the back of the helmet.
Remove the flags from the backpack, just underneath the ball at the bottom end of the flagpoles.
Trim the bottom of the backpack so that it is not so long (might otherwise hit the top of the jetbike seat when assembled).
Glue backpack to torso.
Step Four:
Clean up whichever brush looks the best, the brush will be mounted on the back of the helmet what will become the “front” of the brush is lacking detail and symmetry at the moment. Even out the brush holder and carve some bristle grooves into the flat front surface.
Step Five:
Remove the second flag from the first flag.
Step Six:
Drill holes in the flagpole and jetbike.
Install brass pin and glue flag to jetbike (see last pic).
Step Seven:
Remove the circled nodule from the jetbike hood.
Step Eight:
Obtain the control arm from an Eldar Support Platform (this is the piece that I forgot to show in the original parts pic).
Remove the thin arm section and discard.
File off the control buttons so that this area is smooth.
Drill a hole in the nodule where the thin arm was removed.
Step Nine:
Install the filed control button nodule to the jetbike as shown.
Cut the Reaper Launcher in half at an angle (check the angle with the angle of the nodule where the hole was drilled in Step Eight).
Drill a hole in the Reaper Launcher and install brass pin.
Step Ten:
File down the circled side of the piece that hangs down from the Reaper Launcher since this hits the jetbike hood and causes the Reaper Launcher to be rotated incorrectly if not filed.
Step Eleven:
Install the Reaper Launcher.
When installed correctly it should sit parallel to the Shuriken Catapults.
If you filed the bottom of the Reaper Launcher correctly you can glue it to the hood, shown by the red arrow.
Step Twelve:
Make sure the Reaper Launcher is straight.
Step Thirteen:
Glue the Autarch into his seat.
I have chosen to NOT assemble the arms because I remember what a pain it was to paint my first Jetbike Autarch with the arms in the way. I have also not installed the hood because I prime the hood white and everything else black.
That’s it! Just need to paint him up and show him off in a subsequent post.
